ENOVIA Engineering Change Management enables the creation of Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO). It ensures that changes to objects are validated, authorized and tracked. The ECR captures request for change and routes it to various participants for validation. The ECO captures the full definition of work required to introduce a change.

The ENOVIA engineering change process is unique because internally it employs Actions as the work item breakdown. This provides ad-hoc capability through the dynamic nature of the Actions itself that permits a single Action to be broken down into individually assigned child Actions. Additionally, seamless transition between informal and formal change processes can be realized by grouping existing Actions under an engineering change.
